Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited visitor data used by High Point Residents Directory. The service is a reference to public record sources and historical collections. It does not require an account and does not host government records.

Information You Submit

A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that operates the results function. Our servers do not retain a separate copy of those searches. A message sent to us contains the information included in that message and is used to respond.

Automatic Technical Data

Hosting systems may record standard log information, including IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate information for security, maintenance, and page-use trends. Cookies or comparable technologies may support basic analytics and advertising measurement.

How Information Is Used

Technical information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service and to understand aggregate traffic. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.

External Destinations

Links lead to county, city, state, library, archive, and outside search services. Their own privacy terms govern information submitted after leaving this service, including information entered into sponsored-result tools.

Service Providers and Disclosure

Hosting and support providers can process the log information needed to perform their services. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires it.

Safeguards

The service uses an encrypted connection and retains logs only for the operational purposes described here. No account, password, or member profile is created for visitors by this service.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information, and we will remove it.

Choices and Data Requests

Depending on location, a visitor may have rights to seek access, correction, or deletion of data a service keeps. North Carolina research identified no comprehensive state consumer-privacy deletion statute or universal opt-out portal. Record-specific protections include N.C.G.S. Chapter 132, G.S. 75-66, voter confidentiality under G.S. 163-82.10, and the Address Confidentiality Program in Chapter 15C. Requests about information held by a government office belong with that custodian; contact us about the limited data described here.

Policy Changes

Updates will be posted on this page. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
